What your favorite color says about you? (I had planned on blue for my next color but opted for pink in honor of the recently passed Valentine’s Day.)
FROM HOT PINK TO THE PALEST PINK this color has a wide variety of hues, meanings, connotations and associations. Here are just a few: pink cadillacs, bubblegum, cotton candy, cherry blossoms, pigs, flamingos, ballet slippers, tutus, Pink Floyd and Pepto Bismol.
Pink has traditionally been considered the a color of femininity… newborn baby girls, prom queens and bridesmaid dresses. Anti-feminists may look at pink as being old fashioned or used to represent repression. And, of course, there is the underlying sexual connotation of pink.
Pink is essentially considered to be a shade of red with white or elements of other colors throw in. I would not call it my favorite, however I still do like it quite muchly.

Honestly, Adora, pink’s not my top color, though I have nothing against it, either. Of course, the with the vast collection you share, there’s bound to be something which appeals to every aesthetic, every taste. In most cases, many things.
As for the brownie question, exactly, who really cares? To the color blind, or in black-and-white photos, they all look the same anyway. So much for appearances; it’s the tasty “brownie” that’s on the inside that counts. Let’s end dessert superficiality here and now!

Dessert superficiality… wow, now that is a term! I certainly would never want my desert to be superficial, ever! I make a point to only consume desserts that are genuine and thoughtful.

Oh, no burgandy for you, lol. Blue is a wondeful color. My mother’s favorite color was blue and my daughter’s favorite color is blue… mine is red. My grandma is not alive to ask but when she was I remember her having a lot of red stuff… red lipstick… so maybe that was her favorite… would be interesting to know!

It’s been said that pink was a peculiarly male color as it stood for the flesh which hunters – usually male – who sought out the day’s meal. Blue was seen as more of a female color, being suggestive of serene, more meditative and reflective frames of mind. Not making a decisive statement, of course, but I thought that was amusing when I first heard, and I don’t recall who first told me. I used to have a favorite hot pink, long-sleeved shirt that I wore (in 6th grade) with turquoise cufflinks. Today, I am not such a paragon of sartorial splendor, but I root for all colors, anyway, though red and black compete for my top spot.

Wow, that is quite remarkable. It’s funny how things change over time. I recall in the 80s how men took to wearing pink shirts. I think that must have went out with “grunge” in the 90s I guess. But now it’s making a comeback I’ve noticed. Maybe it’s always been like that even in the hunter/gatherer era. Surely fashion trends aren’t such a modern thing after all. I’m sure the hot pink shirt and turquoise cuff-links were just the bomb!
